Description

Promotes skin soothing and moisturizing. Tranexamic Acid, a lysine derivative, primarily inhibits melanin synthesis in melanocytes. It effectively inhibits UV-induced plasmin activity, which is increased by UV rays stimulating the production of plasminogen activator in keratinocytes. By blocking the binding of plasminogen to keratinocytes, TXA hinders UV-induced plasmin activity, thus preventing the release of arachidonic acid (AA) and α-MSH, both of which stimulate pigmentation. Additionally, TXA indirectly reduces the production and release of b-FGF, a potent melanocyte growth factor, by inhibiting the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, thereby curbing melanocyte proliferation.
